Mr T! 120 kg Olympian!
Posted on by adamI want to say Congrats to my friend Tervel Dlagnev, as he has just won the 2012 Olympic Team Trials over his old nemesis and he will be representing the USA in London this August at the Olympic Games. Its been amazing to watch how he has developed into the wrestler that he is. When I first met him he was a Senior in High School and only placed 3rd at the State Tournament. He is a perfect example that by leading a clean lifestyle and working hard towards a goal that anything is possible.
New Website
Posted on by adamWelcome to TwisterWrestling.com 2.0! This redesign has been in the works for a long time and its nice to see it up and running. There will now be frequent updates on any camps and clinics that I will be coaching at and also any new products that are available.
Thanks to Jeff Sylvester for all of his time and effort. As with all things in my life I try to work with former wrestlers in any way possible. For example if I was going to buy a car I would buy it from a former wrestler, if I am shopping for a dentist I find a former Longmont State Champ! I think that the lessons learned through wrestling carry on into our lives forever and it means alot to me to keep it in the family. So if you need a website designed contact Jeff.
End of Summer
Posted on by adamWell the summer is almost over and we now have time to reflect on another successful summer. In addition to teaching at several wrestling camps and clinics this summer I was able to coach with my alma mater UNKon an overseas trip. We traveled to Paris France, Istanbul Turkey, and Varna Bulgaria. It was an amazing experience where we got to see some incredible places as well as train with some very high level wrestlers. We trained with the Turkish National Team for 2 days and that was my first time I have wrestled with an Olympic Champion-the Turks are always contenders at World and Olympic Championships.
Also I have continued to sponsor twin brothers and MMA fighters Joe and Jake Ellenberger. Both fighters are coming off recent victories and I cant wait to see whats in store for the future. Joe just won his 12th straight fight and Jake has a huge fight coming up Sept 17th against former UFC title challenger Jake Shields. Check out Ellenbegermma.com for more details on upcoming fights.
As the summer is coming to an end and the fall is upon us we are all starting to look forward to this season. Now is the time to start to develop new techniques that you will need this season to reach your goals no matter if your goal is to win a State Championship or just make the varsity the Twister DVD can help you overcome even the toughest adversary!

Half Way Point
Posted on by adamWe have reached the halfway point of the wrestling season and a few new things are going on here at Twister Wrestling. The first is that the state tournaments are coming up soon and now is the time to learn any new techniques that will help your wrestlers reach their goal of becoming a Champion. It takes a few weeks of drilling and working on techniques to make sure they are ready to perform it in a match. So now is the time to purchase your Twister DVD. I am also currently putting together my spring and summer camp schedule so stay tuned for more info on summer camps and the Twister Wrestling Academy starting in March. The last thing is that we are sponsoring Jake Ellenberger for his upcoming fight on Feb 5th so be sure to tune in to the event and cheer on Jake. Winding Down
Posted on by adamThe 2010 school year is winding down and the summer is upon us! We had a successful spring session of the Twister Wrestling Academy with several of our members winning some tournaments. Im looking forward to another exciting summer tour of wrestling camps and I hope to be able to help as many young wrestlers as I can reach their goal of becoming a champion. Twister Wrestling Academy
Posted on by adamI hope everyone is getting excited for the upcoming regional and State tournaments It is the time of the year when those who have prepared to compete against the best end up on top of the podium and those who did not reach their goals start working hard to end next season as a State Champion. I would like to announce that The Twister Wrestling Academy will be in its first year in Colorado. After being in Nebraska the last few years I am excited to start fresh and I hope we are able to reach the same level of success. Twister Video 2.0

I have re-filmed the Twister DVD and made some improvements as well as added new techniques. Twister version 2.0 has all of the technique that is in the original as well as additional set ups, highlights and my front headlock series. Also the new DVD has several full matches of myself wrestling in college open tournaments from the last couple seasons. To order Twister 2.0 go here to the products page.
I am also happy to announce I have been named the new Head Wrestling Coach at Longmont High in Longmont, CO. I have coached at UNK the last two years and at Franklin High School two years before that. I am glad to be back in the high school level and I am excited to start a new tradition for the Longmont Trojans. I have started a new team website for Longmont click here to visit the page.
Another Year in the Books
Posted on by adamWell another year is in the books and it has been another great year for me and my wrestlers. This was my last season coaching the UNK Lopers and our team finished 4th at the NCAA DII Nationals. We had 6 All-Americans. This was also the 2nd year for the Twister Wrestling Academy and we had a ton of great wrestlers this year. It was a pleasure to able to coach all of these talented young wrestlers and I cannot wait to see what an impact they will have at the state tourney in the next few years.
The first year of the Twister Challenge was a great success and the winner was Derek Ross, an All-American from UNK. Derek is originally from St Francis KS and had only performed the Twister once in a competition until this year where he used it generously to pin 9 opponents. Note these are college pins which are very hard to come by and another interesting fact is that Derek (or Dross as we call him) wrestles at the 197 lb weight class. I have not seen any other Hwts hit the twister the way that Dross has! Congrats to Dross and I can’t wait to see him hit many more Twisters next year.
